In addition to our beautiful spot on Highland Lake there are beaches close by for day or afternoon trips. Freeport, home of our beloved LL Bean flagship store and campus is only a car ride away. There you will find outlets, coffee shops, restaurants, ice cream palors, cafes and much more. Also located in Freeport is Wolfes Neck Woods State Park. It's well worth checking out if you want to decompress from an afternoon of shopping. Its a short drive from the village and the views are breathtaking. The park is composed of woodlands, estuaries, rocky coast line, guided nature walks and osprey watching. One of the many amazing things about Highland Lake is its proximity to vastly different landscapes in the surrouding area. We have mountains, rivers, lakes, ocean, hiking, fishing, boating all within a reasonable distance to make your vacation filled with a rich experience of what our beautiful state has to offer. Our cottage is located on Highland Lake in Falmouth. As you can see from the pictures it has a great beach front area. There is also a private dock for you to use. The water is fairly shallow with a very gradual drop off that goes out about 30 yards before getting deep. The cottage also provides westerly views for some great sunsets over the water. The kitchen inside the cottage overlooks the beach and water. There are three bedrooms and one of them has bunk beds perfect for kids. We are located about 10-15 minutes from Portland so you are very close to entertainment/dining/activities if you get restless. We are dog friendly.

This lovely cottage is at the end of a well-maintained dirt road, has 120 feet of lake frontage and a half acre of mostly wooded land--very private. There is a red cedar dock with bench for enjoying the beauty of the lake. A cedar swingset and slide plus a small zipline can entertain the kids. It is only a 20 minute drive to Portland. In summer the lake is awesome for swimming and boating. September and October are wonderful months--still beautiful weather though cooler in the evenings. Fall foliage season is special. A heat exchange unit takes the chill out of the cottage and cools or dehumidifies in the heat of the summer. There are 3 BR and a 3/4 bath--maximum occupancy 6 people. It includes a fully equipped full kitchen, both a gas and a charcoal grill, 2 canoes, 2 kayaks, and a mini-fish sail boat. Bedding and towels are included. This is a NO SMOKING property. I will decide about pets on an individual basis. There is internet service and a Smart TV with a DVD player (no cable TV) and lots of books to read. There is a heat pump which will provide you with heat, AC, or dehumidifier. You must bring in drinking water as all the water in the house comes from the lake. We absolutely loved your cottage, its location and the lake. After driving around Sebago, I was very glad to be where we were. Please contact me with questions This beautiful little cottage (camp if you are from Maine) is situated on Highland Lake (Duck Pond) in Falmouth, Maine. Highland lake is a 3 mile long private lake with only one public boat launch that is hand carry only. The camp is located on the eastern shore in a cove with the only beach. The lake is perfect for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, beautiful sunsets and wildlife (bald eagles, loons, turtles, beaver etc). The camp is only 30 minutes from downtown Portland, Maine. Portland is a great city to explore with museums, parks, shopping and dining. Freeport is 30 minutes away with the outlets and LL Bean but also a great state park, Wolfe’s Neck. There are many antique shops in the area as well as access to shopping plazas and restaurants in the neighboring town of Windham. If you like to hike, you can get to the most eastern portion of the White Mountains in less than 2 hours (beautiful drive even if you do not hike that brings you through the lakes region). If you just want to relax, the camp has a spacious deck with views of the lake or you can walk down to the beach and go for a swim, kayak or lounge around and read a book. If you like to fish, you will need a license and we can provide the information on how to get one. In the evening come down with a snack and camera to watch one of the beautiful sunsets. The camp is a quaint 2 bedroom (1double, 2 twin), 1 bath cottage blending the old and the new. The camp has a futon couch that folds out to a double bed. The camp has a tv with cable and wifi and good cell phone coverage. We will provide linens for bed/bath and the kitchen has all the amenities that you would need (dishes, pots/pans, microwave, toaster, coffee machine with filters etc). We also have a gas heating stove to take the chill out of the air and a ceiling fan with a wall full of windows facing the lake to cool you. In each of the rooms we have a small fan that can be placed in the window or a small ceramic heater to take the chill out of the bedrooms. Personal items such as soap, shampoo will need to be brought but we will provide the toilet paper and paper towels. Please bring your own lawn/beach chairs . You can bring your kayak, paddleboard or any other hand carry boat (PFDs are required by Maine law). We also have a canoe with PFDs, bocce or horseshoes, if desired to use on the beach. Sorry no power boats, pets or access to a washer/dryer.

Level one contains 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, full kitchen, dining room, living room, with sliders opening out to the lake level. (It is down a flight of stairs from the parking area.) Level two contains 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, full kitchen, great room (dining area and living area), on the same level as the parking area. Both levels have fantastic views of Highland Lake facing West for fantastic sunsets.

Swan's End is a 2300 sf home 200 feet from the year-round Highland Lake. Three en-suite bedrooms, a huge great room, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room, kayaks, a canoe, paddle boards, barbecue area and an outdoor fireplace will make your vacation one to remember. The home sleeps eight with one king, one queen, four twin beds and one sofa queen sleeper. This area of Highland Lake is quiet with several year round residents. The lake is never crowded with boats or skiers. Note that this home is not on the lake, nor is it close to a dedicated swimming area. The home is 200 feet from the boat ramp which is a launch site for kayaks, canoes and boats.

This is the first level of our home on Highland Lake. The house has been in my family since 1954. In 1983, the first level was created by my parents for their retirement home. It has been updated since then, but remains very close to what they created. The second level was completely redone in 2017. Jennifer and Peter continue to live there for the Summers in Maine (mid-June to mid- September), and expect to be there while the guests are there. The property was and continues to be set up as two separate residences. There is a connecting door, but we keep that locked when the house is occupied by two separate groups (guests and owners). The first level is a walk-out onto a deck that is 7 feet above the level of the lake. There is a dock with the water level 5 feet deep at the end. We face the West, so you will get spectacular sunsets. The lake is 640 acres. It is located 20 minutes from Downtown Portland, and 40 minutes from Freeport, home to LL Bean.

Just finished renovations!!!!! The perfect year round get-a-way. Sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake any time of the year. You will feel miles way from it all even though you are just outside of Portland Maine. Our year round camp is located on Highland Lake It is the quintessential location to enjoy all the things Maine can offer. We are just a short drive to the beautiful Maine beaches and our local ski resort. Shawnee Peak We are an hour to the White Moutains and forty minutes to Freeport. Sit out by the fire pit and listen to the loons as you watch the moon rise, or take out one of our kayaks and float in peace. Our camp offer a paddle boat, four kayaks, and a canoe. (Lifejackets included) A 50 feet dock to fish off of. There is a trampoline raft in the water and several floats for all to enjoy. We have croquet set, a bocce ball set and a small volleyball/badminton set that can be set up in the back yard In the winter you can go x country skiing, ice fishing or snowmobiling right out the front door. The owners live next door so if you forgot anything,or need help finding your way around, just ask and we will help you out. Close to downtown Portland, the Portland Jet Port, Freeport, beautiful Maine beaches, apple orchards, a Gorgeous wedding venue a mile away called Caswell Farm and close to trails for hiking or biking, my home has many options nearby. The driveway will be the only shared area so we ask guests to please respect each groups privacy. Upon entering from the new deck built last year, you will find yourself in the hallway of hooks. The laundry room and the downstairs full bathroom are off the hook hallway. The bathroom has a clawfoot bathtub and other unique fixtures. The kitchen is next and its fully stocked with whatever you may need to cook at home. We provide a few breakfast items including coffee and tea while pantry items, condiments, herbs and spices are readily available. The next stop is the open concept dining room and living room. The dining room table can seat 2 and a highchair and the bar at the end of the kitchen can seat 4. The living room has a wrap around couch and a large screen tv. YouTube TV is provided. The woodstove is located here as well and the coziness is undeniable. Next, there are two doors heading into the downstairs bedroom which has a queen size bed and a super awesome heated mattress pad for those cold winter nights. Next head up the stairs and enter the master bedroom which has the king size bed as well as the full size bed. High ceilings and a very unique shower are present here and are calling for a visit. The shower has a steam feature which is great for relaxation. There is a smaller tv with a dvd player and plenty of movies to choose from. My place is a very unique and magical space and I'm happy to help guests at anytime for any reason and to share this home that I am very proud of.
